Outrunning the Demons: Running with Alzheimer's Disease | Runner's World

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

Recently, my personal physician, a close friend who cares for me like family, took away my right to drive at night, and my lawyers told me to sell my cherished family home to reserve cash and simplify my life. As awful as this is, I would be more horrified if I couldn’t run. For me, running restores mental as well as physical stamina. It flicks the lights back on. It reboots my mind, provides a reprieve, so I can do what I love most—write, think, and focus. It calms my rage, like letting steam out of a boiling teakettle. It’s not just me: Researchers, too, have found that regular aerobic exercise benefits the brain and may slow the progression of cognitive decline.
