The fifteenth annual Bike, Walk and Wheel Week — a celebration of active modes of transportation — begins Monday and run through May 22.
The week encourages residents to incorporate biking, walking and riding the bus into their weekly travel routine. In conjunction with numerous events being held throughout the week, COMO Connect will offer free bus rides.
Events start Monday with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department hosting a bicycle licensing drive and giving away free bike lights from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gentry Building, 1 S. Seventh St. A community walk along the Grindstone Creek Trail is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Grindstone Nature Area.
