Magnificent Missouri organizes fundraising events in the greater St. Louis area to benefit conservation and environmental groups throughout Missouri. In the spirit of collective impact, Magnificent Missouri facilitates social events, meetings and other activities to create awareness of conservation efforts, raise funds, foster collaboration, and to get people out in the country.

Magnificent Missouri was started by two St. Louisans with a long-held love for the Missouri countryside and what happens there. John McPheeters is the owner of Bowood Farms, an urban interpretation of a garden center that brings sustainability — and the spirit of rural Missouri — to the Central West End of St. Louis. Dan Burkhardt is the founder of the Katy Land Trust, an organization dedicated to preserving the farms and forests along the Katy Trail and Missouri River west of St Louis. Both of them are farmers and have spent plenty of time at the end of a shovel and in the seat of a tractor.
