By now you have probably heard that the Grand Avenue bridge over I-670 is slated for emergency replacement this summer. You may also be aware of Grand’s significance as a key bike, pedestrian and transit corridor across greater downtown KCMO — buffered bike lanes will soon run a significant length of Grand.

Mid America Regional Council is taking public comments on the design of the new bridge.

This emergency replacement is an opportunity to signficantly improve walking and biking. Widening and upgrading the sidewalks would be critical.
