MoBikeFed comment: This is the type of investment that states across the U.S. are making in bicycling and walking. As NY Governor Cuomo says, this "money is 'critical' to expanding transportation options that are healthier for people and better for the environment."

Last year--as in every past year--Missouri put $0 in state transportation funds into bicycling and walking.

This should be a wake-up call for Missouri. When other states are investing hundreds of millions and Missouri is investing $0, we are going to fall behind.

Other states are not making this type of investment for nothing. The money spent on vital bicycling and walking facilities is an investment in our communities and in our citizens.

Communities that have these facilities are going to thrive in the 21st Century, and areas that lack them are going to be left behind.
