Construction is underway on a new Downtown Bike Loop in Kansas City.

The paint starts hitting the pavement this week for the Grand Boulevard portion of the Downtown Bike Loop. Crews began painting Wednesday evening near 5th Street in the River Market.

The Grand Boulevard bike lanes will take at least three weeks to complete, said Beth Breitenstein, city spokeswoman.
