The Missouri Department of Natural Resources hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the beginning of a $2.5 million infrastructure project Thursday afternoon at the Katy Depot.

The project, decades in the making, will close the approximately 3-mile gap in Sedalia, the only gap in the 240-mile Katy Trail State Park that runs from St. Charles to Clinton, Missouri.

MoBikeFed comment: Huge thanks goes to local citizen advocates, city and county officials, State Parks, DNR, and Governor Parson, who all worked to support this project over the past 25 years and helped make it happen this week.
