Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

There’s quite the buzz in the Arcadia Valley and the region for that matter as construction work is underway for a mountain bike park.

It will be called the Shepherd Mountain Bike Park and is located in Ironton.

A meeting, not open to the public, is set for Tuesday, August 18th at 1 at the Arcadia Valley Career Technology Building in Ironton. . . .

Phase 1 of this new mountain bike park includes five gravity trails, one climbing trail, one shuttle trail, two city connector trails, two city connector shuttles, two mountain shuttles, a mountain pavilion and a city hub building all being built.

Phase 2 work will include additional gravity trails, cross-country trails, access to Shepherd Mountain Lake and inter-city trails.

Mayor Lourwood is looking for the Shepherd Mountain Bike Park in Ironton to open in the spring of 2021.

MoBikeFed comment: This is another example of the trend towards more and better mountain bike trails across Missouri. This is a much-needed trend--because mountain biking is one of the most popular and fast-growing sports in Missouri.
