Missouri ranks as 8th-least-active state in U.S.

According to a recent CDC report on physical activity levels of U.S. residents, Missouri ranks as 8th worst among the 50 states, with only 40% of Missouri residents reaching a very minimal level of physical activity.

Nationwide, 45% of residents reach the minimal level of physical activity.

The states that had the most physically active residents were Wyoming, Washington, and Alaska. About 55-56% of the people in each of these states met or exceeded the U.S. physical activity recommendations of more than 30 minutes of any physical activity more than five days a week or more than 20 minutes of vigorous physical activity on more than three days per week.
Ranking worse than Missouri were Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
