Dom Nozzi, "An introduction to sprawl and how to cure it" in St. Louis March 13-15
Submitted by Brent Hugh on Thu, 02/26/2004 - 5:40pm
Dom Nozzi will speak in St.Louis March 13-15 about his book, "Road to Ruin, an Introduction to Sprawl and How to Cure It".
Here is the schedule of events:
The group will discuss how American communities metamorphosed from human-scaled, sociable communities designed for pedestrians, bicyclists, and kids to communities designed for high speed, high volume car travel. We have discovered that the more convenient we make communities for cars, the less livable they become for people. Rush hour, long commutes, congestion, chauffeuring kids everywhere, air pollution, seas of asphalt where there should be open space --- what are the alternatives and how do we get there from here?
To sign up, contact Ginger Harris (svharri@marisnet.com, phone (314) 432-2618) or Cheryl Hammond (info@todaydata.com, phone (314) 291-5907).
