St. Louis Regional Bicycle Federation partners with Better World Club to offer Bicycle Roadside Assistance

The nation’s first bicycle “pick-up” service is now available through the St. Louis Regional Bicycle Federation and Better World Club.
Better World Club will supply this service nationwide. It works just the same as the reliable emergency roadside assistance program for automobiles. They’ll take you and your bike to the nearest repair facility, or home, within 30 miles from pick up.
Visit www.stlbikefed.org for prices and membership levels, and to join. New members that sign up through our link an extra month free (13 for 12)!

Here’s how it works:
* BIKE-ONLY membership will take you and your bicycle up to 30 miles in total when you break down, assuming the service provider can't fix your bicycle on site. You get two calls per year and receive up to a maximum of 30 miles of “pick up service”. This is a full service membership, with the same discounts on hotels, restaurants, and other travel services as an AUTO-ONLY member. Special introductory rate of only $39.95 per year.
* AUTO AND BICYCLE membership includes coverage for your bicycle and automobile. It includes up to four service calls per year, two of which can be bicycle calls. Bicycle coverage is a maximum of 30 miles free from pick up. AUTO coverage is either five miles of free towing for BASIC member or 100 miles of free towing for PREMIUM members. The cost is $64.95 per year (Basic) and $94.95 per year (Premium).
Why do you want an alternative to AAA?
Let’s ask the Car Talk guys: “We had no idea that part of our AAA dues were being spent on lobbyists who oppose just about everything having to do with public transportation. If AAA thinks that it’s a good idea for every single person to get to work in 3,000 pounds of iron, we sure don’t want to help support such a silly idea. Cars stink. Everybody knows that,” Tom Magliozzi, co-host of Car Talk on NPR.
