Ozark Cycling Club provides helmets for youngsters

The Ozark Cycling Club is running a campaign to provide helmets to young cyclists and encourage bicyclists to wear helmets. The Springfield News-Leader story included this interesting fact:
Contrary to a common impression, bicycle-vehicle collisions aren't responsible for most bicycle-related head injuries.

Statistics for 2003 indicate that in Springfield most head injury accidents occur close to a child's home and involve falls, Holt said.
