5 SEP 2006: Help make the Complete Katy Trail a reality now

Right now is the best chance in a generation--or more--to make the Katy Trail Connection to Kansas City happen. Read why here.

If we can galvanize support over the next month or two, it could make a crucial difference. If we fail to do it, this opportunity could slip through our hands.

If you can take even one or two of the actions below it will help make a difference. Literally thousands of Missourians are working with you on this, so if each of us does a little it adds up to a lot:

• Email, call, or write Ameren yourself to ask for the Complete Katy Trail. This is a long-term campaign so there is nothing wrong with asking over and over until it happens.
  
  
• Invite your friends, family, neighbors, riding, walking, or jogging partners to send an email, too (you can do this most conveniently at the end of the send a message to Ameren process).
  
  
• Invite your state representative or senator, city council members, local parks board, etc., to write a letter of support. Who should they send it to? Recipients listed below.
  
  
• Encourage your local bicycle club, running club, or other civic club to write an official letter of support and send it to the contacts below.
  
  
• Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Then when it is published, clip it and send to the contacts below.

MoBikeFed is helping back you up by sending out hundreds of press releases and contacting hundreds of cities, counties, agencies, and departments to ask them to support the Complete Katy Trail. But often it is you who can make the local connection that makes the difference.
