Tour of Missouri receives higher UCI rating

I am very pleased and proud to tell you the Road Commission met today and I was successful in securing 2.1 status for the 2007 Tour of Missouri!

This moves the Tour of Missouri from a 2.2 to a 2.1 in the UCI ratings. Of the U.S. stage races, only the Tour of California & the Tour de Georgia are at this level or higher.

Tour of California is 2.1 and the Tour de Georgia is 2.HC, which is higher.

In short it means ToM will be able to attract better riders, better teams, more visibility--kind of like moving from the minor leagues to the major league.

And now it really, really is in the "big three" of U.S. stage races--the Tour de Georgia, the Tour of California, and now the Tour of Missouri.
