B-cycle--bicycle sharing system going nationwide
Submitted by Brent Hugh on Tue, 01/20/2009 - 9:48pm
The coalition between Trek Bicycles and Humana that brought (very popular/successful) the bicycle sharing system to Louisville is now preparing to take the idea of bicycle stations to other cities across the country.
The B-cycle web site lets you see what a bicycle loaner program would do for your city and register your vote for bringing the system there.
When the program was introduced at the Humana campus in Louisville, they had 28% of their employees sign up for the program (2500 people) and were checking out 100 bicycles per day.
