St Louis city & county to create comprehensive Bicycle Master Plan

According to a St Louis Biz Journals article, CH2M has been hired by the Great Rivers Greenway District to create a comprehensive Bicycle Master Plan for both St. Louis City & St. Louis County:

The project will identify a network of roadways and interaction with the trail systems to improve the use of bicycles in commuting to work as well as the safety of motorists and cyclists, the engineering, construction and operations firm said.

The company said it would focus on connecting residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, schools, transit and parks.

This bicycle master plan will be a huge step forward for St. Louis City and County.

You can see more about what Great Rivers Greenway District has in mind for the master plan in this document.

Expect to hear more about the master plan in the near future--the plan calls for citizen involvement as well as data gathering to determine what the final plan will look like.
