Park(ing) Day turns parking spaces into parks across Missouri
Friday, September 17th is Park(ing) Day, where parking spaces around the world become parks for a day. It's a great celebration of public space and the growing movement to reclaim space for people, not automobiles.
Several parks are planned communities across Missouri, so if you have one nearby be sure to stop by and check it out. Plus, it's not too late to organize your own Park(ing) Day park.
- St. Louis: Delmar Loop and South Grand
- Kansas City: 11th and Grand and University of Missouri - Kansas City
- Independence: Englewood neighborhood, Independence Square, and Independence Center shopping mall.
- Springfield: South and McDaniel Streets
See the Park(ing) Day map to get details on these locations and add your own park to the list. Check out www.parkingday.org to see how easy it is to create your own park.
