Girl Scouts work with Trailnet to complete bicycle project | STL Today

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

Byrd is one of four members of Girl Scout Troop 1413—along with Cassidy Ball, Audrey Alt and Leigh Bird, all eighth graders at Hixson Middle School in Webster Groves—who decided to focus on the environment for their Girl Scout Silver Award project. The girls worked with Trailnet, an organization that promotes healthy, active living through walking, biking and public transportation, to conduct a survey of students at their school. By modifying and facilitating the survey, which included questions on transportation habits and preferences, barriers to walking and biking, and community improvements, the troop helped Trailnet extend its reach to include middle school students in the area. The girls also created a large-scale art piece for Trailnet, primarily using recycled materials.
