Officials with the state of Missouri celebrated the 25th birthday of the Katy Trail Tuesday afternoon. They also broke ground on some new additions. . . .

The Katy Trail is the nation’s largest “Rails to Trails’ project. The trail connects small towns from the west side to the east side of the state. Bryan said the trail is an economic engine for towns all along the trail. He added the trail brings people to rural towns that they might not have visited otherwise.
