Osage seniors prank with mass bike ride to school - Police called | The Lake News

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

The idea was hatched among a handful of School of the Osage seniors late last week: Why not ride their bikes to school en masse as “sort of a senior prank.”

A flurry of emails and phone calls over the weekend pulled the idea together, and about 40 students parked their vehicles in the Lowe’s parking lot before school started, unloaded their bikes and off they went. Whether by design or consequence, the result was a traffic jam down Highway 42 that resulted in the cops being called.

MoBikeFed comment: There was a time in America when high school students riding bicycles to school was normal, not an occasion to call the police. Perhaps if our roads were actually designed to allow normal activities like bicycling and walking?
