"Kirkwood is a great walkable city, one of the most walkable municipalities in any region," Marielle Brown, a planning manager for Trailnet, told the Kirkwood City Council during a presentation of her firm's master plan to foster movement by foot and bicycle in Kirkwood.
Trailnet, a consultant specializing in blending people-powered transport with mass transit, interviewed residents and staged public demonstrations of their typically recommended walking and bicycling plans from spring 2014 to early this year.
