I wheeled my hand-me-down men’s bike out of the garage on a recent Sunday and rolled north along the Frisco Highline Trail.
Missouri’s most famous bike route is the 240-mile Katy Trail, from Machens, near St. Louis, to Clinton. But the state’s second-longest rail-to-trail project is in Southwest Missouri, and it offers plenty of riding for a day, even a weekend.
The 35-mile trail stretches from Springfield to Bolivar.
