A mile-long sidewalk has been added along Oakland Avenue that runs from Skinker to Hampton. About two miles of bicycle lanes have been put in as well along Oakland.

But residents have long complained about difficulty and danger accessing the park from nearby neighborhoods. Wide, multi-lane, high-speed, high-traffic roads line the park and these roads have traditionally been difficult for cyclists and pedestrians to travel along and across.

This is a good step in a positive direction to make access to Forest Park better and safer.
