Plans for a major road project in south St. Louis have changed after a fierce pushback by residents.

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officials proposed a plan to block off as many as 18 side streets on Gravois from Ann to Tennessee to simplify traffic lights and keep cars moving, but many people living in the area, as well as local businesses, were not happy about it. Now, MoDOT plans to make the roadway more pedestrian friendly without any road closures.
