The council accepted the final report of the Mayor's Task Force on Pedestrian Safety, which is encouraging the city to adopt Vision Zero strategies for eliminating accidents involving pedestrians.

Task force member Leeann Johnson said adopting Vision Zero — a philosophy of zero tolerance where pedestrian deaths and injuries are concerned — was the group's main recommendation. . . .
