BikeWalkKC recently partnered with Operation Breakthrough to pilot a program that combined our Youth Ambassadors curriculum and their Leadership Class. The 6th through 9th graders worked on safe cycling practices, bike maintenance skills, and learned the importance of advocacy within communities. The nine students that met criteria based on attendance and participation even got to take home a bike of their very own.

Throughout the program the students got practical experience on bicycles. A small number were not quite comfortable on a bike at first, but soon became confident riders.
