30 Ways To Boost How Many Steps You Take Each Day

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

Now you may not be able change some of these systems, such as the design of your city or the lack of public transportation, overnight. However, there are a number of things that you can do right now to increase your walking:

1. Keep track of how much you walk: Many devices, such as Fitbits, are emerging to monitor how many steps you are taking. Of course, knowing is not necessarily doing. Therefore, wearing a wearable fitness tracker is not enough. You have to do something with the observation that you walked only 20 steps in one day (to the beer closet and back).

2. Wear more comfortable clothes: Your clothes can determine your behavior. This is why you don’t wear a tuxedo to bed or a Lady Gaga meat dress to a dog show. Loose (physically, not morally) and comfortable clothing will facilitate walking.

3. Wear more comfortable shoes: If need to have more fashionable shoes, keep them at work and commute wearing sneakers.

4. Consider convenience when choosing where to live, work, play and go to school: Having a good view is nice, but how far are the grocery store, your workplace or other daily destinations?
