It didn't take long for a Hannibal resident's dream of an outdoor exercise area to come to reality, after he mentioned the idea to Parks & Recreation staff members a couple months ago.

Maxx Vance donated about one-third of the cost for a new Energi Prime Total Body Fitness System, officially open to the public Thursday, Dec. 29, at the west end of the Bear Creek Trail. Marketing Director/Recreation Supervisor Mary Lynne Richards said Vance told her and Director Andy Dorian about his idea, inspired by a fitness trail he saw in Columbia. Richards commended Vance for his support and vision for the community, coupled with Dorian's hard work to bring everything together - bringing an exercise area often found in other cities to America's Hometown.
