Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:
USA Cycling has broadened its mission considerably. Bouchard-Hall admits that, in the past, USA Cycling largely ignored enthusiast cyclists who didn’t race. Now, the heart of its new initiative is a kind of license for non-competitive riders, a program called the Ride membership. It’s just $50 a year, and Bouchard-Hall is highly optimistic about its prospects. Here are five aspects he hopes will help the organization appeal to non-racers:
Insurance: the core of the Ride membership is a $25,000 supplemental insurance policy for accidents at organized rides. Crucially, says Bouchard-Hall, this includes any event ride, regardless of whether it’s run under a USA Cycling permit or not. This is separate from the insurance policies offered to event promoters – it follows the individual rider.
