St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson has appointed Jamie Wilson as the city's new director of streets.

He replaces Steve Runde, who is retiring after more than 40 years in city government.

Wilson, a traffic engineer, was the city's first bike/pedestrian coordinator. His duties included coordinating bicycle and pedestrian projects and making streets safer for those on foot and bikes.
