Make Access to Tower Grove Park Safer

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

We are neighbors and concerned citizens calling on the City of St. Louis to improve pedestrian safety and calm traffic on Kingshighway near Tower Grove Park.  As the City prepares to spend millions upgrading this thoroughfare, we call on its leadership to incorporate the following proposals to make Kingshighway safer and Tower Grove Park more accessible for all users:

Maintain 4 lanes of traffic on Kingshighway next to Tower Grove Park,

Build a crosswalk with a pedestrian-activated signal entering Tower Grove Park at Reber Place,

Calm automobile traffic and make crossing safer at Arsenal and Magnolia with curb bump-outs, medians, and signal priority for pedestrians,

Incorporate the needs of the surrounding community in the design of this road, particularly those traveling by foot or bicycle.
