St. Louis has more than 100 miles of bike paths and protected bike lanes. A new piece of equipment will help make them safer for the city's bicyclists and pedestrians.

Nicknamed “Archie” in honor of the Gateway Arch, the Street Department's new Green Machine 636 is equipped with both sweeper and vacuum capabilities, allowing it to pick up trash, dirt and debris to make a cleaner and safer path for bicyclists. And unlike a traditional street cleaner, this machine can clean paths as narrow as five feet wide.
