Ride for the City
Mission: St. Louis will host its 2nd annual bike-riding event, Ride for the City, at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7 at 4366 Manchester Avenue. The ride offers 35-, 22- and 14-mile routes along the Riverfront Trail. The event will help raise money toward restoring St. Louis through empowering people to transform their lives, families and neighborhoods.
Last year, more than 70 bike riders participated in the event organized by Rich Pierce. Pierce, a friend of Mission: St. Louis through the Journey Church and member of the International Christian Cycling Club, decided he wanted to use his talents and passion for cycling to benefit others. With his help, Ride for the City raised more than $5,000 that benefited its now four core programs – Youth Development, Senior Services, Home Repair and Job & Leadership Training.
Those interested in registering for Ride for the City can visit www.missionstl.org/events. Registration is $10 and includes the ride, a water bottle, ample snacks and beverages. Riders are asked to either pledge $100 or 4 hours of service to a Mission: St. Louis program of their choice. Participants can also register on the day of the event.
Press is invited to cover this event. For more information, contact Mandy Zoelzer at mandy.zoelzer@missionstl.org or via phone at 314.534.1188.
