Tour of Kansas City race this weekend
The Tour of Kansas City bicycles races take place Saturday and Sunday, August 9th and 10th, 2003. Saturday, they run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Old Northeast Neighborhood at Gladstone Boulevard; Sunday they are in in downtown Overland Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those who brave the early August heat and attend the Tour's events should get a good taste of what cycling is like here in the United States.
"It's really an opportunity to see some first-class cycling,"' said Juli Watkins, a Kansas City Bicycle Club member who will compete. "Of course, it's not at the Tour de France level, but the racers who are coming out are extremely competitive, and it's some of the best racing in the country."
