Ten percent of trips in Missouri are by walking or bicycling. Ten percent of roadway injuries and fatalities are pedestrians and bicylists. And ten percent of Missouri households do not own an automobile.
This ten percent of Missouri transportation should be represented at the highest levels of MoDOT.
Appointing one member of the eight-member Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (one of eight is 12.5%) would go a long way towards meeting this need.
