BikeMO 2005 is over!

BikeMO 2005 was a great success. Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help and all of you who came out to ride and support bicycle advocacy in Missouri. The ride raised approximately $2000 for bicycle advocacy in Missouri.

See BikeMO 2005 photos online here or view a Flash slideshow of the ride photos here.

We want to thank the businesses who supported or sponsored the ride: Holt's Summit Plaza Shopping Center, the Holts Summit Community Betterment Association, Walmart in Columbia, Mid-Mo Rental in Fulton, Ravine Street Bicycle in Fulton, the Capitol City Cycling Club, Fireworks Supermarket in Kingdom City, 4-C Convenience Store in Readsville, and Tonanzio's Cedar Lake Lodge in New Bloomfield.

Plan now to ride again in BikeMO 2006. The route will again be in mid-Missouri and the date will be mid-October 2006--thus the general information on this page about route, directions, lodging, restaurants, and camping will still be valid in 2006.

Watch this space ( for more details as they become available. Hope to see you there!

Celebrate the Missouri Bicycle Federation's many successes this year with us, as we enjoy the fall foliage and beautiful roads of central Missouri on this new ride featuring Century, Metric Century (62 miles), and Half-Metric (32 miles) routes.

The BikeMO, the first annual ride in support of Missouri bicycle advocacy, is a fundraiser for the Missouri Bicycle Federation.

Time & place: Saturday, Oct 15, 2005, 9AM, starting at Holt's Summit Plaza, Holt's Summit, MO, five miles north of Jefferson City on Hwy 54.

BikeMO showcases the countryside, autumn leaves, and fine rural roads of Callaway county this year.

The ride will begin at 9AM because of the season and to allow time that morning for cyclists from Kansas City, St. Louis, and other areas of the state to travel to the starting point.
Bicycling in Jefferson City

The ride will be only $20 with pre-registration (add $5 for registration the day of the event).

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for BikeMO resources and information, including maps, sag stops, camping, motels, and directions to the starting point.

Plan to support MoBikeFed the fun, enjoyable way-by participating in BikeMo!

The BikeMO Routes
The BikeMO routes are three of the most beautiful loops through rural, scenic mid-Missouri. Most of the routes are on low-traffic, two-lane country roads.

Most of the route can be described as gently rolling hills and some segments are quite flat. But every so often there are some really steep or substantial hills--for instance on the segment of the Century route between Readsville and Fulton, and the section of the 32-mile route on Highway H.

The route passes through or along many sections of the Mark Twain National Forest and wildlife conservation areas--for instance, the route passes through, along, or near the Pine Ridge Campground, the Cedar Creek Trail, Carrington Pits Recreation Area, the Cedar Creek Unit of Mark Twain National Forest, the Little Dixie Lake Conservation Area, the Prairie Fork Conservation Area, the Reform Conservation Area.

Please note that all of the above reflect provisional plans, which may change.

  • Starting point
  • Lunch: For 60 and 100 milers we suggest lunch in Fulton. We will provide a list of restaurants in the area. This is on your own, of course.
  • Roving Sag: Sag vehicles will drive the route to help bicyclists in trouble or having mechanical problems. In addition, Eric at Fulton Bicycle is hosting the Fulton Sag Stop, so if you are having any mechanical problems, there is an opportunity to have them worked on.
  • Lodging:
  • Area festivals and eventsHelmets are required for the ride.
