Paseo Bridge--Bike/Ped Accommodation Fact Sheet
Submitted by Brent Hugh on Tue, 09/13/2005 - 9:54am
The Missouri Bicycle Federation and the Greater Kansas City Bicycle Federation have been working with citizens and community groups to build support for pedestriand and bicycle-transportation accommodation on the proposed new Paseo Bridge in Kansas City.
The proposed separated bicycle/pedestrian path would be the first Missouri River bridge crossing to accommodate pedestrians and all levels and types of bicyclists in the Kansas City area.
We have put together a Fact Sheet about the Paseo Bridge project, listing other similar projects across Missouri and across the nation that have included bicycle and/or pedestrian accommodations.
Recent Missouri River bridge projects in Boonville, Lexington, and St. Louis (Page Ave. Extension) have included bicycle/pedestrian accommodation. Upcoming projects including the Missouri River bridge near Hermann and the planned bridge near Washington will include separate bike/ped paths. Details in the fact sheet:
