Report on IMBA/Subaru Trail Care Crew in Chillicothe
The IMBA/Subaru Trail Care Crew was in Chillicothe last weekend for a workshop. The Green Hills Trails Association has a report and photographs of the weekend's activities:
Instructors Kristin Butcher and Ryan Schutz covered topics including sustainable trail design, basic construction of new trails, turns, drainages, bridges, reroutes and reclamation. They also covered how we could make better use of rocks to protect sensitive areas and mark our trails to make them more enjoyable and useful for everyone.April 7-9 the Trail Care Crew will be in St. Charles, MO, for the 2006 Midwest Mountain Bike Festival. sponsored by GORC.<?PHP $tags="green hills trails association, imba, mountain biking, trails, trail building, gorc"; ??>
Our hands-on project was to do a complete reroute of a Green Hills Trail section that was too steep and didn't handle water very well. It wasn't a problem yet, but would have been once more riders started making an impact.
