Hit-and-run driver sought in Columbia

A bicyclist was injured by a hit-and-run driver in Columbia, Missouri, Friday.

A Columbia bicyclist remained hospitalized this morning after he was injured in a hit-and-run accident yesterday.

Sean Parkin of 1711 Canyon Drive was hit at about 6:39 p.m. while riding on Ponderosa Street near Northampton Drive.

Parkin was traveling north on Ponderosa when a gray or silver passenger car struck him. The 19-year-old landed on the ground. The car, which lost its passenger side mirror, left the area traveling north on Ponderosa toward Grindstone Parkway.

Parkin was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, where he was in fair condition this morning.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (573) 875-8477.
