Springfield's Bike Bus & Walk to Work Week underway

Springfield's Bike Bus & Walk to Work Week is underway. Ozarks First talked with a couple of Springfield's bicycle commuters:

"We started it just as a three month trial to see if we could do it. And by the end of the three months, we had gotten into a groove and a routine," he says. . . .

Terry has been riding his bike from the country to the city for nearly thirteen years. He says one of the biggest motivators is the amount of savings on transportation.

"Quite honestly looking at the bank account at the end of three months, couldn't explain where some of that money came from till you start to realize you haven't been buying gas for the second car and oil for the second car and repairs for the second car and a car payment," says Terry. . . .

"I kind of thought that, 'Okay I'll get out on my bike every now and then,'" says Andy Cline. "But as soon as it rains, as soon as it gets cold, or as soon as I feel like I'm in a hurry I'm just going to go right back to my vehicle. That hasn't happened."
