Three Missouri congressmen co-sponsor Complete Streets
Submitted by Brent Hugh on Mon, 08/03/2009 - 7:15pm
Three Missouri members of Congress have announced their support as co-sponsors for HR 1443, the national Complete Streets Act of 2009.
Congressmen Russ Carnahan and Lacy Clay of St. Louis announced that they would co-sponsor Complete Streets soon after we talked with them and their staff members at the National Bike Summit in March.
Congressman Cleaver of Kansas City has now added his name to the list of co-sponsors.
With three co-sponsors of the Complete Streets Act, Missouri now has more co-sponsors than any state except California (which has 53 House members vs. Missouri's 11--and only one more co-sponsor) and Pennsylvania, which is tied with us at three co-sponsors.
If you live in the congressional districts of Congressman Clay, Congressman Lacy, or Congressman Cleaver, it would be very appropriate to send a short note saying thanks for co-sponsoring Complete Streets. Contact pages:
And thanks once again for your support of MoBikeFed and our attendance at the National Bike Summit--it is that support that helps support from our political leaders happen.
