St. Louis wins grant to connect Gateway Arch and Riverfront Trail

An early Christmas present to St. Louis is news of a $1 million grant to help connect the Gateway Arch to the North Riverfront Trail, adjacent residential neighborhoods, and an upcoming connection SoulardMetro, the St. Louis transit agency, received the grant to:

"bring improved bike and pedestrian facilities along Leonor K Sullivan Blvd from Eads Bridge to Great Rivers Greenway parking lot at Biddle St. (start of the North St. Louis Bike Trail) through to the eastern portion of Branch Street.  The connection will link existing and planned bike trails in St. Louis neighborhoods to the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, and will include more signage, biking and walking path, and bike racks."
