With a lot of passion and commitment but no money, Kara was able to organize her school's first Walk to School Day in 2009--expanding it into one of the largest Walk to School programs in the state of California in 2010, when 17 schools participated.

October is Walk to School month in Missouri, and schools across the state hold Walk to School Day events.  

Last year we tripled Walk to School Day participation in Missouri, with 45 schools participating.  But we would like to double participation again in 2011--that means 90 or more schools organizing Walk to School Day.
