Capitol Day 2014: Join us for the Legislator's Ride April 7th, 12:30pm, Jefferson City
From the State Capitol to Katy Trail State Park

It's a great chance to meet your Missouri legislators and elected officials and introduce them to the bike/ped river crossing and the Katy Trail.
Pre-register for the ride (FREE) here or find out more about Capitol Day here.
For Legislators and Participants:
- If you are bringing your own bicycle, you are welcome to join us at 12:30pm April 7th with your bicycle and helmet (we appreciate a call or email 816-336-2550 or director@mobikefed.org) to let us know you're coming--it helps with planning--but it's not required)
- Bicycles will be provided to legislators and staff who need them (you must reserve your bicycle by April 3rd at noon by calling 816-336-2550 or emailing director@mobikefed.org)
- Planned schedule:
- 12:30-1:00pm - Introductions and a short awards program at the Capitol South Steps area
- 1:00pm-2:00pm - Ride/Walk to and across the new pedestrian/bicycle path to the North Jefferson Trailhead (approx. 3 miles from Capitol Steps to the North Jefferson Katy Trailhead--about 20 minutes easy riding). Points of interest:
- Beautiful hiking trails at the north riverfront
- Once arriving at the North Jefferson Trailhead (3 miles), those who wish to continue their ride on the Katy Trail are invited to do so--you can ride long or short, according to your schedule.
- Snacks and water will be available at the Capitol steps and at the North Jefferson Trailhead
- The route is about three miles each way, six miles total (map)
For the general public:
Please take a moment to email or call your own state legislators and invite them to the ride. You can look up their contact info here.
