MoDOT teams clock over 120,000 miles in the Gov's 100 Missouri Miles Challenge
Back in 2013, when Governor Nixon announced the 100 Missouri Miles Challenge, we challenged MoDOT to get involved in the 100 Missouri Miles Challenge in a big way.
It only makes sense for MoDOT--or any other big employer--because employees who are fit and healthy are not only happier, more productive employees, but they cost their employer less in health care costs and sick days.
Over the past two years, the 100 Missouri Miles Challenge has racked up over 3 million (!) miles from over 23,000 participants from all across Missouri.
So how has MoDOT fared?
At our recent meeting in Jefferson City with MoDOT leadership, we asked. Here is the answer:
In 2014, teams from all seven MoDOT districts racked up a combined 120,120 miles combined.
The winning district was St. Louis, at 26,273 miles. In second place was Central Office, with 22,810 miles.
Every one of the districts accumulated over 5,000 miles.
That's not bad! Many congrats to MoDOT and its many biking, walking, running, and hiking employees!
