St. Louis County is one of the most densely populated and heavily urbanized areas in the state, yet far too many roads in the county lack basics such as sidewalks and crosswalks at intersections.
It is unclear from the description of this incident whether it occurred in the immediate vicinity of Parker Road, where a short section of sidewalk parallels Benham Road both to the north and the south of Parker Road, or whether the pedestrian was struck in the much longer sections of Benham Road that lack sidewalks altogether.
