In downtown Kansas City, you might notice some new paint on the street near 11th and Main - paint that's bright and green.

It's called a bicycle box, and it's the first of its kind in the Kansas City area.

"It allows bicyclists to get in front of stopped traffic at the light," said Deb Ridgway, the Bicycle Pedestrian Coordinator for Kansas City, Mo. "It gives them a little jump on traffic and helps keep them safer."
