How I did it: Cyclist bikes 70 miles for 70th birthday : STLToday

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

Jerry Leigh started covering ground on his bicycle in his Bel-Nor neighborhood when he was 5 years old. He hasn’t slowed down since. “I started working at my uncle’s bike shop when I was 11. I’d ride my bike to his shop in Dellwood every day. I worked there through college. Today, I still repair my bike. I’ve also built bikes, for me and for others.”

For Leigh, biking isn’t just a workout; it’s a joyful exercise that puts him in touch with other people and with the natural world. His birthday junkets have required good advance planning and support.
