A Missouri state representative wants cyclists to ride with a 15-foot tall fluorescent orange flag on any “lettered country road,” or rural highway.

Jay Houghton, Republican from the 10th district, proposed House Bill 2046, which would require every bicycle to be “equipped with a flag clearly visible from the rear and suspended not less than fifteen feet above the motorway when the bicycle is standing upright.”
