Branson undertakes one of the biggest Complete Streets projects ever - Branson Spirit of 76

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

The City of Branson is undertaking an exciting project to transform Highway 76. This project will develop a conceptual design plan and funding strategy that will transform 76 Country Boulevard into a “Complete Street.” The goal is to redesign and reconfigure the roadway corridor to enable safe, attractive, and comfortable access and travel for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and public transport users of all ages and abilities.

MoBikeFed comment: Branson is in the middle of one of the biggest Complete Streets transformations we have seen in Missouri--a project to turn five miles of Highway 76 through Branson--which holds most of the area's tourist attractions and is currently a traffic and pedestrian nightmare--into an attractive, "Complete Streets" version of the Branson strip.

It will be exciting to see this project, which has been in development for several years already, roll out over the next couple of years.

It is going to set a high bar for other tourism-related cities and towns across Missouri!
